The final flight ceremony took place at Hangar 500 at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach. During it’s service to the U. S. Navy, the Tomcat has captured headlines and it’s own devoted following. The next and final day of the event, the “Tomcat Sunset Banquet”, held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, attracted Tomcat enthusiasts from all over the world. The guest list included 40 Flag Officers, CNN representatives and the first and last pilots to fly the renowned jet, who all gathered to make a toast to its’ years of dedicated service. The wine was supplied for the event by Virginia’s first and only micro-winery, Carafe Wine Makers.
